Proposition A in Effect Now

The Missouri Gaming Commission and casino operators around the state received a shock, after learning the loss limits are off in the casinos already. The commission thought the initiative, which also increased the casino tax rate and capped the number of casinos that can be built, would not take effect until the Secretary of State Robin Carnahan verified the voting results. Instead, the initiative took effect on Tuesday, the day of the election.

RFD-TV Theater hosted the "World's Largest Flag Raising" this afternoon. For the second year in a row during Veterans Homecoming Week, a gigantic American Flag was hoisted with cranes above the theater parking lot.

Woman Still Missing

Stone County authorities say a woman from the Compton Ridge area is still missing. . Christina Lisa Hubinsky was last seen around 11 o'clock Friday morning, October 31st at her home off Highway 265. Hubinsky was to drive to Henning State Park on Highway 76, just outside Branson. But the person she was to meet there tells authorities Hubinsky never arrived. Christina Hubinsky is a 45-year-old white female, about 5-feet-8 inches tall, weighing around 130 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. She may be driving a 1999 Chevy Cavalier, teal in color, with a Missouri license plate number of MB9-R4H. Sheriff Richard Hill was unavilable for comment this afternoon on the status of the investigation, and a dispatcher said she could not comment on whether Hubinsky or her car have been seen, or if there has been any activity on the woman's bank accounts since she went missing.

Change of Schedule for Lt. Col. North's Visit

Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North will arrive in Branson this weekend to be a part of several Veterans Week activities. North will first appear Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. for a book signing at Silver Dollar City. Then Colonel North will be at Veterans Village in the Branson Convention Center Monday for 10 a.m. press conference, afterwards he will be available to sign his book "American Heroes". North has been invited as a special guest at the Marine Corps 233rd Birthday Ball at Chateau on the Lake Monday night followed by Breakfast with Colonel North at the Branson Convention Center Ballroom from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday Morning before the Veteran's parade in Downtown Branson.
